3 & 6 Week Beginner Pottery Wheel Course
Learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing at this 3 or 6 Week Pottery Wheel Course, on the Mandurah Foreshore! Class times available on Wednesdays (5:30-8pm) or Saturdays (10 am-12:30 pm).

Three – 2.5 hr Pottery Lessons (ages 18 +)

WEEK 1 – wedging, centering, opening a vessel
WEEK 2 – pulling up bowl & plate forms
WEEK 3 – pulling up cup & tall cylinder forms
You choose your learning day.
Small group of 7 students, on Wednesdays (5:30-8pm) OR Saturdays (10am-12:30pm).
You choose your weekly practice time.
Book your practice session anytime during normal business hours (except during workshops/private events).
Goal of the Course – Begin to master the fundamentals of throwing basic forms. Each week, the forms we make, increase in level of difficulty. At the end of the course, you decide which of your best 4 pieces you would like us to finish for you (trim, polish, bisque fire, glaze & high fire). See our 6 Week Pottery Course, where students learn to trim, polish, bisque fire, glaze & high fire their pieces themselves.
6 WEEK PROGRAM
13 TOTAL SESSIONS
Six – 2.5 hr Pottery Lessons (ages 18 +)

Seven – 2 hr. extra practice sessions
w/ a bonus session to bring a friend to!
6 WK PROGRAM
WEEK 1 – wedging, centering, opening a vessel

WEEK 4 – basics of trimming & shaping
WEEK 5 – art of hand built embelishment
*** BISQUE BREAK ***
We break for 1-2 weeks to allow pieces to dry, get bisque fired & ready for glazing & underglazing in week’s 6 lesson. During this week(s) you will get a BONUS session for you & a friend – for free – to show off your mad skills!
WEEK 6 – basics of glazing, underglazing & firing
You choose your learning day.
Small group of 7 students, on Wednesdays (5:30-8pm) OR Saturdays (10am-12:30pm).
You choose your weekly practice time.
Book your practice session anytime during normal business hours (except during workshops/private events).
Goal of the Course – Begin to master the fundamentals of throwing basic forms. Each week, the forms we make, increase in level of difficulty. At the end of the course, your goal is to finish 8 pieces (throw, trim, embellish, polish, bisque fire, glaze & high fire). This class is suitable for ages 18+ due to the glaze mixing element of this course.
COST OF COURSE
Cost of 3 Wk Course ($390 for 6 sessions/13.5 course hours). The cost per course hour is $28.80.
Cost of 6 Wk Course ($650 for 13 sessions/29 course hours). The cost per course hour is $22.40.
INCLUDES:
All your clay, instruction, access to our studio for practicing, use of our tools & equipment and firing & glazing for your favourite artworks (trimmed, polished, bisque fired, glazed & high fired).

Makeups – If you need to make up a class during your course, you will get to choose 1 of 3 options…
1) Makeup your lesson in another Group Class (provided there is space & the content/ages taught matches)
2) Opt for an extra Practice Session instead
3) Private/semi-private Makeup Lesson (We have discounted these Private Lessons to our Course Students. From $149 to $50. These can be booked on ANY day/time that suits you). This cost can be shared amongst more than 1 student needing to make up a lesson.
