3 & 6 Week Beginner Hand Building Course
Welcome to your Sunday clay sesh. Learn the fundamentals of hand building, and create some pottery for your home! Join us for our 3 & 6 Week Hand Building Pottery Course, on the Mandurah Foreshore! Class times available on Sundays & Wednesdays (10am – 12:30pm)!
$390 – 6 Sessions (3 wks)
$650 – 13 Sessions (6 wks)
3 WEEK PROGRAM
EXTENDABLE TO 6 WEEKS – Loving it? Extend your program to 6 weeks – even during the course!
6 TOTAL SESSIONS
Three – 2.5 hr Pottery Classes (ages 18 +)
+
Three – 2 hr. extra practice sessions
3 WK PROGRAM
WEEK 1 – create 2 handcrafted cups/mugs, using two of the oldest pottery techniques – pinch & coil methods
WEEK 2 – create 2 pasta/salad bowls & basics of hand embellishment (handles, underglazing, carving & sculpting)
WEEK 3 – create a large serving bowl, as you advance into slabwork.
You choose your learning day.
Small group of 7 students, on Wednesdays (10am-12:30pm) OR Sundays (10am-12:30pm).
You choose your weekly practice time.
Book your practice session anytime during normal business hours (except during workshops/private events).
Goal of the Course – Begin to master the fundamentals of hand building. Each week, the techniques you will learn, will increase in level of difficulty. At the end of the course, your goal is to finish 5 pieces (included, additionals are +$15 per piece).
6 WEEK PROGRAM
13 TOTAL SESSIONS
Six – 2.5 hr Pottery Classes (ages 18 +)

Seven – 2 hr. extra practice sessions
w/ a bonus session to bring a friend to!
6 WK PROGRAM
WEEK 1 – create 2 handcrafted cups/mugs, using two of the oldest pottery techniques – pinch & coil methods
WEEK 2 – create 2 pasta/salad bowls & basics of hand embellishment (handles, underglazing, carving & sculpting)
WEEK 3 – create a large serving bowl, as you advance into slabwork.
WEEK 4 – challenge yourself in the slab method, as you create a tall sculptural jug/vase, to adorn your tableware.
WEEK 5 – put all your newly acquired skills together to make 2 challices/goblets & 2 plates. Get into the basics of hand painting/glazing.
*** BISQUE BREAK BREAK: ***
We break for 1-2 weeks to allow pieces to dry, get bisque fired & ready for glazing & underglazing in week’s 6 lesson. During this week(s) you will get a BONUS session for you & a friend – for free – to show off your mad skills!

COST OF COURSE
Cost of 3 Wk Course ($390 for 6 sessions/13.5 course hours). The cost per course hour is $28.80.
Cost of 6 Wk Course ($650 for 13 sessions/29 course hours). The cost per course hour is $22.40.
INCLUDES:
All your clay, instruction, access to our studio for practicing, use of our tools & equipment and firing & glazing for your favourite artworks (trimmed, polished, bisque fired, glazed & high fired).

Makeups – If you need to make up a class during your course, you will get to choose 1 of 3 options…
1) Makeup your lesson in another Group Class (provided there is space & the content/ages taught matches)
2) Opt for an extra Practice Session instead
3) Private/semi-private Makeup Lesson (We have discounted these Private Lessons to our Course Students. From $149 to $50. These can be booked on ANY day/time that suits you). This cost can be shared amongst more than 1 student needing to make up a lesson.
